Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BMI Calculator Online (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit bmicalculatoronline.info (the “Site”). The Site is owned and operated by James Donald, based in the United States. If you have questions, email contact@bmicalculatoronline.info.

Information the BMI Calculator Uses

The height, weight and age you enter into the BMI calculator are processed only inside your own browser. They are not sent to our server and we do not store them. The calculator remembers your unit and cut-off choices (for example cm or ft / in) in your browser’s local storage so they stay selected on your next visit. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

Information We Collect Automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server log data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. We use this information to run, secure and improve the Site.

Information You Give Us

  • Email: if you contact us by email, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.
  • Newsletter: if we offer a newsletter and you subscribe, we collect your email address through our email service provider and use it to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Advertising

We show, or plan to show, advertising on the Site through Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners. These partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad and to measure ad performance.

Analytics

We may use analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site, for example which pages are popular and how people find us. These services use cookies or similar technologies and receive information such as your IP address, device and browser details and pages visited.

Third-Party Services Used by the Site

  • Hosting: the Site is hosted by Hostinger, which processes server log data on our behalf.
  • Fonts: the Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address.
  • Email marketing: the Site loads a script from Hostinger Reach, our email marketing provider, which is used for sign-up forms.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: as described above.

These providers process information under their own privacy policies.

Cookies

For details about the cookies and similar technologies used on the Site and how to control them, see our Cookie Policy.

How We Use Information

  • To provide, maintain and improve the Site
  • To show and measure advertising that keeps the Site free
  • To respond to messages you send us
  • To protect the Site against fraud, abuse and security threats
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information for money. Allowing advertising partners to use cookies for personalised ads may count as “sharing” or “selling” under some US state laws; see “Your Privacy Rights” below.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising.

  • California and other US states: residents of California and other states with consumer privacy laws can make these requests by emailing us. You can opt out of personalised advertising using the links in the Advertising section. Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of sale or sharing.
  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, including advertising cookies. You may complain to your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email contact@bmicalculatoronline.info. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and we will not discriminate against you for using your rights.

Do Not Track

Browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting, but there is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to it, so the Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention and Security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure.

International Visitors

The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.

Links to Other Websites

The Site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
